StudioShar Identity — Studio Obtuse

We designed the visual identity for StudioShar, a delhi based Interior Design
and manufacturing company ef

We wanted the logo to reflect the gritty qualitites of the furniture
that the designer makes, and keep it super clean at the same time

The identity revolved around some core questions

We find designing for print super gratifying and did several rounds of trials for this

For the final production we used Screenprinting as it gives the letters a very tactile effect and the colours come out super rich.

And after this, the whole branding was scrapped. We started again from scratch with a new name, ‘Dinner Tble’ and went from there.

The logo was a process. As it must be.

we revived a 1907 font found on an old calling card of Henri Matisse’s.

The font used on it looked like letterpress but something close was nowhere to be found so I recreated it with Linocut.

Then the the rough looking letters were refined into a font that looked classic and luxurious but also had the intricasies and details that suggested a manual making process which also represents the brand.
